CarPlayerCarPlayer keeps your data on your iPhone.
What we collect: nothing. CarPlayer has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We don’t receive any information about you or how you use the App.
Screen mirroring: your screen is captured only after you start sharing in the system prompt. The picture goes from your iPhone directly to your car display. It is never recorded, stored or uploaded.
Data on your iPhone: playlists, server addresses, favorites, watch history and website data from the in-app browser (such as cookies) are stored only on your iPhone. Passwords and access tokens are kept in the iPhone Keychain and are sent only to the server or provider you added.
Permissions: the camera is used only to scan a playlist QR code, and the picture is not saved. Motion sensors are used only to rotate the picture on the car screen. Videos from Photos and Files are opened only when you choose them. All of this happens on your iPhone.
Network connections: the App connects only to the services you add or open (playlists, media servers, Plex, websites), to websites to show their icons, to the App Store for purchases, and to an Apple server to read the current time for the free daily limit. These services may see your IP address, as with any internet connection, and their own privacy policies apply.
Purchases: handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Deleting your data: remove a source or sign out in Settings, or delete the App to remove all of its data from your iPhone.
Children: the App is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
Changes: if this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date.
